C.A. Foster

Claude Arthur “C.A.“ Foster, 72, of Lawson, Mo., passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at the North Kansas City Hospice House in North Kansas City, Mo. Born August 1, 1938, in Deepwater, Mo., he was the son of Claude Edward and Hazel L. (Ruth) Foster. On June 11, 1960, in Kansas City, Mo., he was married to Retta Ruth Martindale, who survives of the home, his wife of 50 years. Also surviving are one son, Stephen Foster and wife, Valerie, of Lawson, Mo.; three grandsons, Dakota Foster and Dalton Foster, both of Lawson, Mo., and Stephen Andreist of Cameron, Mo.; two brothers, Charles Foster of Independence, Mo., and Donald Foster of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Linda Goens of Kansas City, Mo., and Carmelita Dugger of Brownsville, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Danny Foster, on May 7, 2005; three brothers, John Foster, James Foster and Clifford Foster; and three sisters, Bette Pickering, Brenda Toothman and Claudette Foster. C.A. joined the Teamsters Union in 1967 and worked for Wagner-Cartage Industries in Kansas City, Mo., until he retired in 1998. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 41, Vice-President of the Teamsters Retiree Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, gardening and doing yard work. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Polley Funeral Home in Lawson, Mo. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home.
