Michael Don Clancy was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sept. 30, 1956. He lived in Florida since 1998. He passed away suddenly on Aug. 15, at 61 years of age, at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, of natural causes.

He worked for Suburban Propane for 20 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was the founder of the ROAD CRUE motorcycle club, EST. 2014.

Michael was preceded by his father, Donald Carl Clancy, and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tamey Kay Clancy; his children: Justin and Amanda Clancy, and daughter and son-in-law, Brenna Clancy and Cody Akins; grandchildren: Decker, Kellan, Taryn and Jared; his mother, Dorothy Backues (Littleton); stepfather, Melvin Backues; sisters: Kathy Keel and Janice Shore; brother, Samuel Blackburn; sister-in-law, Christine Shepherd; nephews: Brian and Kevin Keel, Zachary Sullivan and Joseph Perkins; nieces: Kelly, Jennifer, Shea and Ryan Sullivan and Chasity Perkins; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other family members.

Michael was a loving husband, an exceptional father, son, brother, uncle and very loving grandfather. He was a well-known, kind and upstanding man, beloved by many friends, his family and respected by all who knew him. He could always make you laugh and enjoyed his life to the fullest, which was also filled with love from those around him. He will be eternally missed by his family and all who knew him, but never forgotten.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the home of his parents, Dorothy and Melvin Backues, located at 937 Duncan Lane, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
