Ruth Ann Sickles
October 27, 1962—January 16, 2018

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, Ruth Ann (Crawford) Sickles returned Home to her Lord and Savior. Ruth passed away at her home in LaHarpe, Kan. after a recent diagnosis of liver cancer. Ruth was born on Oct. 27, 1962, in Excelsior Springs, Mo. to Ralph and Hazel Crawford.

Ruth was married to Roger Sickles on Feb. 14, 1983 until his death in 2010. They were forever sweethearts.

Through the years, Ruth lived a life that was full of adventures, both good and ornery. She was a smart lady and learned things easily. She loved to crochet, and she worked in several fields of employment, including a med-tech, custodian at Fort Scott Community College and was working as sprayer of railroads and highways at the time of her passing. Later in life, the Lord redeemed the lives of both Ruth and Roger and we can take comfort in the confidence of where they are now. What a testimony of His goodness and grace their lives were.

Ruth was proceeded in death by both of her parents and her husband, Roger.

She leaves behind a large legacy of love, family and friends. Survivors include: her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Shelly Crawford of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and their family, Nikki (Corey) Rogers and sons Jude and Reid of Blue Springs, Mo., and Eric Crawford, also of Excelsior Springs; half-sister and brother-in-law, Candie and Mike Horton of Dover, Kan.; daughter, Melissa (Robert) McGee of Kingman, Ariz., and her family, Canon, Cheyanne and Nickolas.

Ruth has a large circle of friends that she was a treasure to that will forever miss her. Many of whom she was like a sister to and she was “Aunt Ruth” to Adryan, Landen and many more. Though Ruth and Roger had no biological children, many were blessed to call them Mom and Pop. We are all better off having had Ruth in our lives in whatever the relationship was.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 22, at Cheney—Witt Funeral Home in Fort Scott, Kan. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
