Allen Carel Nunnelley, 87, of Excelsior Springs passed away June 19, 2023.

Allen was born Nov. 24, 1935, to Carel Nunnelley and Louise Elliott in Excelsior Springs. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and was stationed in Rhodes, Greece, on the Voice of America USCG Courier and retired from the Ford Kansas City Assembly Plant.

Allen also was a third-degree Freemason. He was one of the first Boy Scout leaders for Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church, as well as a deacon and an elder.

He loved his motorcycles and taking road trips with his wife and daughter Linn, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. If asked, Allen would say his greatest joy was his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carel Nunnelley; and mother, Louise Nunnelley-Shally.

Allen is survived by his wife, Sue Linn Nunnelley; daughters, Linn Nunnelley and Madalyn (Christopher) Walden; and grandchildren, Hunter and Elliette Walden.

A celebration of life visitation will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 26, at Bross & Spidle Chapels in Excelsior Springs.
