Clayton Wayne Martin, 64, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Excelsior Springs Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Windy Hill Cemetery, located behind Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs, under the direction of Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs.

Clayton was born to Billy and Wincel Martin on Nov. 21, 1958, in Excelsior Springs. He graduated high school in 1977 from ESHS.

Clayton spent 35-plus years doing what he enjoyed: tool- and dye-making. He liked to spend his time watching the Royals, Chiefs and Missouri Tigers, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Wincel Martin; his brother, Steven Leon Martin; his favorite four-legged friend, George; and his life partner, Diana Fay (Husher) Turner.

Clayton is survived by his children, Joshua and Tori Cazzell, Jacob and Amanda Martin, Clayton “Wayne” and Taylor Martin; sister, Joyce Partin; and brothers, David Martin, Billy Martin; and 11 grandchildren, Jacob Jr., Hallie, Mary, Ashton, Lanie, Amelia, Kaiden, Maxine, Jax, Kinsley and Tucker; as well as many extended family members that he shared with Diana.
