Douglas E Roberts age 79 years of Excelsior Springs passed away in the early morning hours of September 12th, 2021, in the comfort of his home from natural causes. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Springs, Missouri with a funeral to follow. The burial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. September 22, 2021, at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville Missouri. 

Mr. Roberts was born April 11, 1942, in Kingsport Tennessee. Graduated from Ketron High School of Kingsport. There he met the love of his life and wife, Patricia E Roberts (Bass). After serving 14 years in the Army, he retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant E6 and set to work as a Fleet Manager for Russel Stover Candies of Kansas City for 25 years prior to retirement. Doug Roberts was an avid member of 7th Cavalry Association, American Legion of Excelsior Springs, and Lawson Veterans of Foreign War. He also served the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church as a president, vice president, gatekeeper and elder. 

Doug Roberts is preceded in death by: Parents Clyde E Roberts, and Ruby Roberts (Osborne). Brothers Thomas Roberts, and Dallas Roberts. 

He is survived in death by: Wife- Patricia E Roberts (Bass), Brother- Norman Roberts of Spokane Washington, Children- Carmen (Troy) Jones of Lebanon Missouri, Douglas E (Pam) Roberts of Warsaw Missouri, Grandchildren- Jeremy (Suzanne) Knecht of Lawson Missouri, David (Nikki) Roberts of Kansas City Missouri, Drake Roberts of Warsaw Missouri, Jessie (Clinton) Dysart of Chillicothe Missouri, and Jamie Jones of Lebanon Missouri. Great Grandchildren- Colin Knecht, Desiray Santucci, Danaka Knecht, Levi Knecht, Noah Roberts, Ziah Roberts, Gabriele Roberts, Aerith Roberts, and Autumn Dysart. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in memory of Douglas Roberts.
