Elizabeth Jane (Foley) Turner, 89, of rural Excelsior Springs, went to be with Jesus on July 28, 2020.

She was born Sept. 14, 1930, to Roy P. and Bertha Foley near Missouri City. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1948 and married her sweetheart, Billy, who lovingly called her “The Cook,” on Dec. 24, 1949. They had three children: Kay Kelly, Lana (Bob) Knutter and Randy (Kathy) Turner.

Elizabeth “Lizzie” was a dedicated, strong farm wife, also called “Mama” and “Me-Ma,” who sang and whistled joyously as she worked. She was a faithful and supportive member of Union Baptist Church in rural Orrick.

Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her siblings, Arvil “Sparky” Foley, Virginia Wilson, Ruby Fletcher and Helen Turner; and her son-in-law, Herb Kelly.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years; her children; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews and friends.

Her wish was to not have flowers but contributions to Liberty Hospital TreeHouse. Donations can be sent to the Liberty Hospital Foundation at 2525 Glenn Hendren Drive; P.O. Box 1002; Liberty, MO 64069, with Elizabeth Turner in the memo line of the gift. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020,
