Gerald Raymond Bath, 94, of Excelsior Springs passed away on April 17, 2023.

A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, May 5, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Springs. The funeral and graveside service will follow the visitation.

Gerald R. Bath (Jerry) was born on March 27, 1929, in Denver, Colo., where he grew up and attended South High School. During this time, he met Ramona Boyer. He later married and started a family with her.

Jerry and Ramona had two kids together. They later moved to Liberty, where they owned and operated Liberty Insurance Agency until their early retirement. During his retirement, he was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather who made sure his grandkids never went without.

After Ramona’s passing, Jerry moved to Excelsior Springs and connected with an old friend, Virginia Mc-Cleary (Jingle); and soon after, they were married. After their marriage, he gained an extended family who treated him as their own father. During their time together, they loved to go on scenic drives, travel and try new restaurants.

While in Excelsior, he met many special friends that took good care of him, including Vicky Wahler, who kept an especially close watch over him. For the past two years, he appreciated the time that he was able to spend with his special friend, Sandy Nashan. The two of them enjoyed each other’s company and kept busy with many activities.

Jerry believed he was a lucky man to be able to watch his grandkids and great-grandkids grow up and be a part of their lives.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ramona Boyer Bath; second wife, Virginia McCleary Bath; a daughter, Debra Bath; and a son, Danny Bath. He is survived by Jim and Janice Bath and family; Richard, Jennifer, Paige and Malea Thomas; and Nathan, Ashley, Hayden and Henry Bath.

Arrangements entrusted to Hidden Valley Funeral Homes. Phone: 816-407-8888.
