Hazel Alexander, 85, of Excelsior Springs passed away Dec. 1, 2023, in San Juan, Texas.

Mrs. Alexander was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Rayville. During her young life, she attended elementary school in Rayville before graduating from Excelsior Springs High School.

Hazel married Jim Alexander Dec. 30, 1956, and later welcomed their sons, Tom and Ricky Alexander.

During her career, Hazel worked as a Stanley Home product dealer, substitute postal carrier, and finally, as a manager for Uniway Buyers Club.

Hazel and Jim were longtime residents of Excelsior Springs. After retirement, they wintered in San Juan, Texas, for many years.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Lorene and Void Bryan; brother, Lonnie Bryan; son, Ricky Alexander; and granddaughter, Erica Alexander.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Alexander; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Lana Alexander; granddaughter, Jamie Alexander; great-grandson, Ethan Green; great-granddaughters, Emma Green and Ariel Alexander; and step-granddaughter, Alex Brandon.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs, with the funeral service beginning at 2 and burial to follow at Salem Christian Union Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.
