James Edmund (Ed) Dixon died Feb. 25, 2022, at Green Hills Care Facility in Ames, IA. Ed was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Clinton, MO. In 1945 the family moved to Excelsior Springs, MO. Ed later moved to Ames, IA in 1956 where he lived until his death. In 1960, Ed married Eugenia Ann Moore. Two sons were born to this union. They later divorced. He was a member of the Iowa State faculty for 37 years.

He is survived by son, Steven (Kim) Dixon and granddaughter, Randie (Kalob) Gist, both of Oskaloosa, IA; son, Michael Dixon of Alexandria, VA; and his two younger brothers, John William of Rochester, NY and Robert Thomas of Lawrence, KS.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Everett Dixon, Jr. and his mother, Mary Louise (Sally) Roby Dixon.

As per his wishes, a family graveside service is planned. His remains will be buried at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
