July 19, 1939 ~ Oct. 29, 2023 Loren David Jones passed peacefully in his sleep early Sunday morning, Oct. 29, 2023, at age 84. He is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters, Shari McCauley (Kevin) and Tina Hastings (Ron); and grandchildren, Gavin, Jillian and Seth Hastings, Jackson, Stanton and Ashley McCauley.

Loren served in the U.S. Air Force, working as a jet engine mechanic. He used those skills to become a diesel mechanic, his profession until he retired in 2001.

He was a man who could fix anything and loved his family. Loren enjoyed fishing, old TV Westerns, helping people fix their cars, and building anything you could think of, and he made delicious sunny-side-up eggs.

His quick wit put a smile on everyone’s face. His sense of humor was intact right up to the end, and he will be missed.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen. McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home of Mount Washington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
