Margaret June (Musick) Brown, 96, passed on Nov. 3, 2020, at Excelsior Springs Nursing & Rehab.

Margaret was born on June 1, 1924.

Margaret lay in state at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home from 11:30-1:30 on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020. A graveside service followed at Hillcrest Cemetery at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, send memorial gifts to the United Methodist Church of Excelsior Springs or to Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab. Pallbearers were members of Margaret’s family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband of 60 years, Nilmarth Brown; and son, Nile Brown.

She is survived by her son, Sam (Cindy) Brown; daughter-in-law, Gail Brown; and grandchildren, Aaron (Karla) Brown, Amy (Ron) McCubbin, Maggie Brown and Mack Brown; great-grandchildren, Alec (Amanda) Brown, Tyler Brown, Shelby Brown, Abagail McCubbin and Jacob McCubbin; and great-great-grandchildren, Piper and Baylor Brown.

Margaret and Nilmarth were married in 1942 and moved to Excelsior Springs in 1945. Margaret served the United Methodist Church in many capacities and was an avid supporter of Excelsior Springs athletics.

Margaret’s family extends heartfelt thanks for the care and quality of life Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab extended to Margaret the last six years of her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
