Mary Alice Earring, 86, of Lee’s Summit, died on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit.

Mary was born on Feb. 4, 1934, in Richmond, the daughter of Jesse “Arnold” and Laveta Mae (Cox) Griffing. She was united in marriage to Leonard Aaron Earring of Kansas City on Dec. 24, 1975; he preceded her in death on April 17, 2006.

Survivors include his daughter, Jane D (Wesley) Cook of Kansas City; two stepsons, Gregory A. (Judy) Earring and Wesley C. (Debra) Earring, both of Independence; grandson, Craig (Kellie) Cook of Pleasant Hill; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Hogan; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bob (Dorothy) Griffing of Richmond and David (Jeanie) Griffing of Excelsior Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-grandson, Tyler Earring; and brother, Allen Wayne Griffing.

Mary was reared and educated in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School in 1952. She worked for Honeywell Corp. in Kansas City until she retired. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at Richmond Memory Gardens.
