Body

Maynard Lee Cole 79, Excelsior Springs, went to his rest on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020. Services for Maynard will be held at a later date.

Maynard was born June 23, 1941, to Marvin and Alta (Bergman) Cole. He married Dora Foster on May 4, 1963. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and you name it. Maynard worked for Hallmark Cards in the heating, cooling and maintenance department. He loved to work on things and was always up to the challenge, as he was a terrific handyman. Maynard loved to watch old Westerns in his favorite easy chair. He also loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs, especially the last two years. He enjoyed spending time with his whole family, particularly special occasions.

Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Alta (Bergman) Cole; and brother, Melvin Cole.

Survivors include his wife, Dora (Foster) Cole; his children, Belinda (Cole) and Thomas Carroll, Bryan and Angela (Rose) Cole, and Jennifer (Cole) and Danny Minch; grandchildren, Taylor Cole, Meg Rogers, Shannon Cole, Jaclyn Zenni and Brenden Zenni; great-grandchildren, Kellen Zenni and Cam Zenni; sister, Marie (Cole) Steelwagon and Al; sister-in-law, Kathy Cole; niece, Gretchen (Cole) and Bill Jones; nephew, Todd and Lisa Cole; and great-niece and nephew, Paige and Eli.

Maynard left this world, and all our little worlds, in a better place because of him. But, of course, he will never leave our hearts.
