1931-2023 Neil Leonard Perry of Sedalia passed away on Jan. 17, 2023.

Neil was born on Oct. 7, 1931. He was adopted by Myrtle and Tom Perry.

He was raised and attended school in Excelsior Springs. He was a decorated Eagle Scout.

Neil had a 30-plus-year career as a truck driver for Westfall-O’Dell Trucking, which allowed him to travel the country. Neil was a hard-working man of few words who married Alice (Ogg) in 1950 and had four children.

He later married Letha (Wallace), his second wife; and then Minnie “Charlotte” (McGinnis), his third.

Neil is survived by his children, Larry (Keely) Perry and Carol Perry; grandkids, Monica (James) Slater, Stephanie (Roger) Cole, Krista (Andrew) Hahn, Melissa Perry, Brandon (Katie) Perry and Alexa Perry; and many great-grandchildren.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Perry, Myrtle (Wallace) Phillips and Frank Phillips (stepfather); sons, Marvin and David Perry; and second wife, Letha Perry.

A celebration of life event for Neil will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at The Hitchin’ Post Venue and Catering, 9575 Bruns Road, Richmond. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor Neil’s memory and share stories and memories.
