Norma Wood, 84, of Excelsior Springs passed away peacefully on April 19, 2023, at home.

Norma was born Jan. 27, 1939, to Marvin and Mildred Dempsey (Oglevie) in Choctaw, Ark.

During her life, Norma was a dedicated homemaker, raising her children and tending to her home. She also was a U.S. Army veteran in the Women’s Army Corps.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mildred (Oglevie) Dempsey; her brother, Paul Dempsey; and her husband, Harold Wood.

Survivors include her kids: David Lynch, John Lynch, Barry Lynch, Sherri Loomis and Jeanne Williams. Also surviving her are her 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and an abundance of loved ones and friends.

The family will hold a private celebration of life on Aug. 19 at Norma’s home.
