Robert “Bob” Grover Pennington, 74, of Rayville passed away Dec. 29, 2020.

Bob was born on Oct. 13, 1946, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was the son of Melvin and Juanita Pennington, who preceded him in death. A cherished nephew, Justin Robert Fuller, also preceded him in death.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol Reed Pennington, whom he deeply adored; a son, Shaine and wife Donna (Olathe, Kansas); a son, Cody and wife Tiffany (Kearney); five grandchildren, Kirby, Danny, Colton, Madison and Morgan; and two great-grandchildren, Reace and Gage.

He also is survived by his sister, Penny Pennington and husband Steve, Salmon, Idaho; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Bob was a professional PRCA bull rider from 1964-1972 and was president of the rodeo team at the University of Wyoming. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1972 with a master’s degree in veterinary entomology.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970, earning the Vietnamese Service Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Bronze Star. He then went on to a career in the animal health industry until he started his own business in 1991 (ECTO Development Corp.) until he retired in 2009.

Memorial services and inurnment will be held at a later date.
