Rosalee Korff (Rosy Francis), 74, passed away May 11, 2021.

The daughter of John Henry and Janearl (Winfrey) Francis, she was born March 12, 1947, at Dr. Cole’s office, above Goppert Bank, in Norborne.

She attended Norborne Elementary and Norborne High School, graduating in 1965.  After graduation, she attended Central Missouri State College (now UCM) at Warrensburg for two years.  Later, she took additional adult education classes.

She was a member of the Norborne First Baptist Church and was baptized in 1955.  She was a Sunday School teacher and Girls in Action leader, and helped with Vacation Bible School.

On June 11, 1967, she married Charles Timothy (Tim) Korff.  They enjoyed 54 happy years together.  They were blessed with two children: a son, Rob Korff, husband of Gay Lynn; and a daughter, Angela (Korff) McDowell, wife of Allen McDowell.

Later, God blessed her with three grandchildren, Mitchel, Logan (fiancée, Abby) and Jenna Korff; and one great-granddaughter, Abrah Korff, daughter of Mitchel. She also was blessed with one sister, Peggy Francis Swearingin, husband David; and four nieces and their families.  Her children and grandchildren were the loves of her life.

She was a former K&K Club member and bowled in a women’s bowling league.  She was an active member of PTA, serving on various committees, as an officer and then as PTA president.  Over the years, she worked at Fellers Drug Store, was the secretary for Korff Oil Co., helped her husband run the Phillips 66 gas station in Norborne, waitressed at Garald and Jesse Fay’s café, and helped her parents run their drive-in.  She also was a substitute teacher.

The job she loved the most was her role as a teacher’s aide for Title I Reading and Math at Norborne Elementary.  She loved working with students and seeing them succeed.  She taught there for 26 years, retiring in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Patsy Ann, who passed at birth; and one grandson, Mitchel.

The family suggests memorials to Norborne First Baptist Church or the Carroll County H.E.L.P. Services Cancer Fund.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services were held on Monday, May 17, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Norborne, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and services following at 11.  Burial was in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne.
