On Jan. 4, 2021, Sharon Wayne Davis passed away at age 88.

Sharon was born on Sept. 4, 1932, in Miami, Oklahoma, to Andrew Jackson Davis and Vetis May Goodwin. He was married on April 22, 1967, to the love of his life, Morene Davis. Together, they had one daughter, Dorothy Tackett.

Sharon worked for the Kansas City Southern Railway for 39 years before retiring. Things he loved doing was collecting World War II memorabilia, watching John Wayne movies, fishing and working on the farm, along with being involved with his kids and grandkids. Sharon was known for being a kindhearted Christian man, his willingness to help others and always being there for his family.

Sharon is survived by his wife, Morene Davis; daughters, Beverly Fowler and Dorothy Tackett; son, Dennis Fordam; brother, Jack Davis; and granddaughters, Lisa Verdusco, Amy Goyne, Dawn Wilson and April Cole.

Other survivors include his grandson, Mark Hines; and great-grandchildren, Travis Verdusco, Audree Verdusco, Nathaniel Goyne, Maleah Patterson, and Cassidy Wilson.

Visitation was 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Pisgah Baptist Church, followed by graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs.
