Thomas Edward Hutson, 65, of Granbury, Texas, died on July 21, 2023, at home from pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his wife and daughters. Tom was born on Dec. 16, 1957, in Chicago to Mary Frances Hutson (Ward) and Johnie Joe Hutson. They later moved to Excelsior Springs, where Tom grew up and graduated from Excelsior Springs High School.

Tom learned the trade of roofing and owned his own roofing business. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and going to the lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Edwin Hutson; and his son, Jason Hutson.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Melody Hutson of Granbury; daughter, Kelsy Graves of Chula; daughter, Tennille Hutson of Kansas City; son, Kyle Klein of Carrollton; daughter, Autumn Hutson of Kansas City; daughter, Lacee Hutson of Kansas City; sister, Susan Hutson-Wright; and several grandchildren, including one great-granddaughter.

Tom never liked being the center of attention. Per his wishes, there will not be any services.

Instead, the family will have a celebration of life to honor Tom. The details are to be determined.
