VERA LORRAINE (MCFEE, TEAT) RAMEY

Vera Ramey

Vera Lorraine (McFee, Teat) Ramey, 85, of Prior Lake, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the home of her oldest son, in Prior Lake. Vera was born on July 3, 1937, in Richmond, the daughter of Lloyd and Mamie (Wright) McFee. She married Bobbie F. Teat of Calhoun County Florida, on Feb. 12, 1954, in Richmond. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1978. Vera married James R. Ramey in 1989 and was divorced in 1994.

Survivors include: three sons, Billy Franklin Teat (Clare) of Prior Lake, Timothy K. Teat (Lori) of Stillwater, Minn., and Martin E. Teat of Chicago; four grandchildren, Kevin (Melissa), Latira, Brett (Jen) and Josh (Amanda); and six great-grandchildren, Addison, Lincoln, Colt, Kayce, Chloe and Olivia.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Junior and Rollin; and five sisters, Lola, Luella, Mary Belle, Wilma and Rose Ettie; and one half-sister, Emily Jane.

Vera moved from Richmond to Lexington after her marriage to Bobbie F. Teat. In Lexington, they had their first two sons.

In 1971, Vera and her husband Bobbie moved to Excelsior Springs, where she resided for more than two decades, raising her three sons. In addition to raising her family, Vera worked outside the home. Vera held various jobs, which included working as a clerk for Pride Cleaners, as well as an employee of Taystee Bakeries. Her last job, of many years, was that of an apartment manager in Excelsior Springs.

She enjoyed all of her family, and loved bowling and playing bingo, as well as cards with her friends.

A remembrance service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, at Charlie’s Irish Pub in Stillwater. An interment service will be held to lay Vera to rest next to her husband, Bobbie F. Teat, at Union Cemetery in Orrick Missouri, when weather permits this spring/summer.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Union Baptist Cemetery; c/o Union Baptist Church of Orrick; 31420 W. 88th St.; Orrick, MO 64077.
