It is with great sadness the family of William “Bill” Lay of Excelsior Springs announces his passing on Dec. 21, 2020 at age 75.

He was born in 1945 in Herrington, Kansas, and graduated from Excelsior Springs High School.

Bill retired from Ford Motor Co. after 32 years of employment. Those who knew him knew that he was a big man with a big heart who had a strong love for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula “Pat” and Wayne Lay; and his sister, Brenda Blackburn. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jessica Lay; brother, Steve Lay; brother-in-law John Blackburn; sons, Christopher Lay, Greg Lay and wife Mary Lay; and his seven grandchildren.

A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at a later date because of COVID-19.
