A slice of humble pie
The world we live in today is full of people determined to gain attention or achieve accolades for their hard work from the people around them.
Whether it be through social media platforms or in the workplace, we all know someone somewhere who is determined to achieve a status of praise and appreciation.
Humility, on the other hand, is even harder to achieve. Having a modest view of yourself and one’s own importance in the world is a practice that I struggle with daily.
Lately, humbleness and humility have been at the forefront of conversation in my household. My husband and I are trying to teach our son how to show humility when faced with a prideful situation.
While we both believe it’s OK to have pride in what you do, showboating the choices that got you there may be a far-fetched idea.
I rely on life experiences to drive toward the future, but along the way, I have realized it’s not about achievements or my name in print that matter.
