Baseballers savor latest milestones
Excelsior Springs varsity baseball coach Aaron Holstand his Tigers recently reached a few milestones.Holst, Excelsior Springs’ varsity skipper since 2001, got his 350th coaching victory Monday with a 4-3 home edging of Winnetonka. The Tigers wanted to get him that win, he stated Tuesday via email.In addition, the Tigers have achieved a team goal of a 20-win season. The Tigers, who’ve won 20 or more games in three of their last four campaigns, were 2111 overall entering Tuesday’s meeting with visiting Pleasant Hill.The Tigers had to rebound from losses to get wins 20 and 21.
