Excelsior Springs nearly swept the varsity portion of the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division boys golf tournament. A Tiger took the individual title at the May 2 competition at Excelsior Springs Golf Course, as Landon Biermann shot his way to victory with an 85. ”After I putted on hole 18, I walked into the clubhouse to give my coach ( David Stalder) my scorecard, thinking I had no chance of winning, and I was shocked when I found out,” Biermann said. The sophomore credited his conference title to his chipping around the greens and getting off the tees. “I struggled quite a bit getting off the tee last year and worked hard over the summer improving that, and that has really helped me over the past few weeks,” he said.
