CAMERON – The Excelsior Springs boys wrestling team was on the road again Dec. 9. That night, the Tigers visited Cameron, where they grappled in a quadrangular with Maysville, Stanberry and the host school. It was their second road competition in less than a week. Excelsior Springs went 2-1 at Cameron. The Tigers opened by falling to Cameron 58-18. Sophomore Trenton Moore fell in the second period to Ryker Smith in the 120-pound weight class. Freshman Micah Danner also fell at 126, getting pinned by Tanner Riley. Junior Landen Davis secured Excelsior Springs’ first win with a 3-1 decision over Chase Short at 132. Senior Gunner Zirjacks then took control of Kenton Gates at 145, scoring a 16-5 major decision; and junior Ayden Dolt defeated Benton Barton by technical fall, 16-0, at 152. From there, senior Clinton McCauley dropped his 170-pound match to Paul Viena by a major decision, 13-4; sophomore Lance Bown fell to Dallas Yanits by a second-period pin at 182; and sophomore J.B…
