Bright shines in classroom and on fields of competition

Jacob Bright is chalking up the honors on playing fields and in the classroom. Bright plays football and baseball at Excelsior Springs High School, where he carries a 3.975 grade point average. His classwork work has allowed him to be a part of National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, principal’s honor roll and SkillsUSA. He also has garnered academic all-state and allconference honors for both football and baseball. In athletics, Bright has helped Excelsior Springs claim back-to-back Class 4 District 15 baseball titles. This spring, he was the starting right fielder for the Tigers, who placed third in the Class 4 state tournament. “I really enjoy playing baseball because there is a smaller number of boys on the team and you are able to build such a close bond with everyone on the team,” said Bright, who’s part of the Excelsior Springs class of 2024.
