Excelsior Springs High School is sending another girls wrestler to the next level. Vada Burton, a senior, recently signed her letter of intent to study and wrestle at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. Burton, who transferred to Excelsior Springs after her first two seasons at Polo, chose the NCAA Division III program over three other schools. She chose Simpson because she sees it as a school that’s there to help people grow in everyday life and one that inspires people to become the best versions of themselves, she said. Burton, who’s entering her 11th year in wrestling, prepares to grapple for Simpson after a career that has included competing for the Polo Wrestling Club, Excelsior Springs Youth Wrestling and the Missouri Women’s National Team as a youth.
