Inductees announced for this year’s HOF ceremony
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Four individuals and four teams will enter the ESHS Athletic Hall of Fame this year.
The inductees were announced over the holiday break. Sammy Triplett, Terri Irons, Kristi Curry and Kristal Reed Reeves were the individuals chosen. The 1989-1992 wrestling teams will enter, too, along with the Quarterback Club.
Triplett wrestled, placing second at state in 1964 as a junior and winning a state title in the now-defunct 95-pound division in 1965.
Irons was a part of the high school volleyball and softball teams, graduating in 1989. She returned to be the head varsity coach of both programs, leading the softball team to a Class 3A state championship in 1998 and a runner-up finish in 1997.
In 2018, Irons led the volleyball team to a Class 3 state quarterfinal appearance. The Tigers finished 22-6-2.
