Danneman takes helm of ESHS varsity football program

Excelsior Springs has a new head varsity football coach. Per school board approval, as recommended by activities director Eric Marshall, Jake Danneman was recently named to succeed Mark Faubion. Faubion, who led the program for eight years, resigned to take a position at William Jewell College in Liberty as the strength and conditioning coordinator, and assistant football coach. Excelsior Springs is a familiar town to Danneman. “My wife and I moved to the Excelsior Springs School District eight years ago, and I am invested in this community and want to see kids succeed here,” he said. Danneman, who’ll teach physical education at the high school, takes the helm after helping Kearney win the Class 4 state title as the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator. Danneman has 23 years of football coaching experience, including 18 years as a defensive coordinator.
