EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Reaching 100 wins in a high school career is a goal many high school wrestlers have. And it is one that Excelsior Springs junior Landen Davis has achieved. Davis picked up his 100th career victory on Dec. 9 by pinning Ethan Oldham of Stanberry in 14 seconds. “Reaching 100 wins right now means that all the hard work and dedication throughout the years has paid off,” he said. “I want to go out and chase my goal of being at the top of the podium and be a state champ.” Now in his 11th year of wrestling, Davis started in the Excelsior Springs Youth Program and worked his way up to the high school team. As a youth wrestler, he was a four-time state qualifier. As a high school wrestler, he is an MSHSAA two-time state qualifier, placing sixth his freshman year at 106 pounds and fourth his sophomore year at 126. Davis is the son of Brian and Satterlee Davis.
