Dolt, Roberts reach milestones in final season
Seniors Carly Dolt and Reese Roberts
are each leaving the Excelsior Springs volleyball program with having achieved a career milestone.
Dolt’s milestone was surpassing 1,000 career digs. Roberts’ milestone was surpassing 1,000 career assists.
For Dolt, a four-year starter as a libero who specialized in getting the ball from the back row to the setters, reaching the 1,000 digs plateau “was a personal goal” since her first year of high school.
“It gave me more of a push to try for every ball I could,” she said.
Dolt attributed reaching the milestone to her coach, Kathryn Partridge. Partridge was there for her and set high expectations throughout her high school career, she said.
Roberts, a three-year starter who was a setter, credited Excelsior Springs’ hitters with helping her the most in achieving her milestone.
“I could not have achieved this without their hard work and I knew I could always rely on them,” she said.
