ES boys grapplers take third at Park Hill Duals
KANSAS CITY – A day of grappling Dec. 4 at the Park Hill Duals ended with the Excelsior Springs boys wrestling team going 2-3 and finishing third.
“Our kids battled all day and didn’t worry about who they wrestled,” Tigers coach Cody Beck said. “The kids didn’t look at the name on the other singlets and let that intimate them and just wrestled hard all day long.”
Excelsior Springs opened with a 54- 25 loss to Cameron. Freshman Ryne Marcum won by technical fall, 15-0, against William Brewer at 120 pounds. Sophomore Micah Danner won with a second-period pin of Tanner Riley at 126. Senior Landen Davis took care of business at 138 with a 7-4 win by decision over Brecken Gates. Senior Ayden Dolt won by technical fall against Kenton Gates, 19-3, at 152. Junior J.B. Prestia finished off the Excelsior Springs wins
with a first-period pin of Chase Querry.
