ES boys hoopsters fall to Grain Valley, Grandview
Like other larger schools in Missouri, Excelsior Springs is about to go into survive-and-advance mode for varsity boys basketball.
The Tigers wrapped their regular season this week with two games – Tuesday at Smithville and Wednesday at home against Oak Grove. They’re slated to begin postseason play at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27 against Odessa at Oak Grove in the Class 4 District 15 Tournament. The winner will play top-seeded Kansas City Central at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 29 in the semifinals of the single-elimination tournament.
FACING THE G MEN
The Tigers were looking to return to the win column as the regular season wrapped. With Tuesday’s loss to Smithville, they had lost 12 straight. Those losses included two defeats last week – 68-18 to Grain Valley Feb. 13 on the road and 97-31 to Grandview Feb. 15 at Excelsior Springs.
