ES boys netters above .500 in dual schedule
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers are sitting above .500 midway through the duals schedule of their varsity boys tennis season.
Excelsior Springs, 5-3, moved above .500 April 11 with a 5-4 road win over Winnetonka. The doubles teams dropped two of their three matches, with the win coming from the No. 3 team of juniors Nolan Greim and Matthew Rebello, who pulled out a 9-8 victory.
Juniors Colby Mueller and Carter Pitts fell 8-0 in No. 1 doubles. Juniors Lee Mueller and Joshua Oldham fell 8-4 in No. 2 doubles.
Needing to win four out of six singles matches to win the dual, the Tigers came through with wins in the two, four, five and six spots. Pitts won his No. 2 match 8-3. Oldham won a seesaw No. 4 match 9-8.
