The Excelsior Springs Tigers are Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division boys tennis champions. With a 7-2 win over Winnetonka and a 5-4 victory over Kearney, both on May 1 on the road, Excelsior Springs finished an undefeated Blue Division schedule to claim the title – the program’s first division title since returning to the Suburban Conference. “I cannot express how proud I am of these guys for the hard work they have put in this spring,” coach Richie Marsh said. “They have come in every day with the intent of getting better, and that work paid off today with the sweep to claim the conference title.” The Tigers won every match except No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in cruising past Winnetonka. They went 1-2 in doubles and won four singles matches to clinch the victory over Kearney.
