ES boys notch four dual victories

Excelsior Springs continues to rack up dual wins in varsity boys wrestling. The Tigers were 5-1 and had won four of their last five duals entering Wednesday’s home dual with Winnetonka, according to Missouri State High School Activities Association records. They got two of those wins during a Dec. 5 home quadrangular with Cameron, Maysville and Pleasant Hill and two more during a Dec. 6 road triangular in Kansas City, hosted by Ruskin. TWO OUT OF THREE The Tigers opened their quadrangular by thumping Maysville 57-22 and then defeated defending Class 2 state champion Pleasant Hill 45-33 before losing to Cameron 39-33. Excelsior Springs picked up wins at 113, 120, 126, 132, 175 and 285 pounds against Maysville. Sophomore Cayden Clevenger defeated Casey Berry at 113 by a 9-4 decision.
