Excelsior Springs got back in the win column last week in varsity girls basketball. After dropping their last two games of the Richmond Winter Classic and falling 48-35 Jan. 29 at Winnetonka, the Tigers trounced Ruskin 63-26 Feb. 1 at Excelsior Springs. TUSSLE AT ’TONKA The Tigers trailed 8-6 after one quarter in their loss to Winnetonka. They scored the first six points of the second quarter to lead 12-8, but the Griffins answered by finishing the quarter with an 11-2 run to lead 19-14 at halftime. Sparked by an 8-0 run, Winnetonka outscored Excelsior Springs 20-6 the third quarter to lead 39-20 entering the fourth. The Tigers outscored the Griffins 15-9 the final quarter. Kinley Rogers paced Excelsior Springs offensively with 16 points. The sophomore also grabbed 17 rebounds for a double-double. Other scorers were sophomore Bella Loeffert with eight points, sophomore Josie Casler with six, seniors Baylee O’Dell and Madeline Andreasen with two points each, and senior Abby Rash…
