ES girls win dual finale; place ninth at tourney
The Excelsior Springs girls wrestling program has turned its focus to the postseason.
The girls finished their regular-season schedule last week, defeating Raytown South 54-22 Jan. 31 in a Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division dual and then placing ninth Feb. 3 at the Winnetonka Invitational.
RAY SOUTH RESULTS
Excelsior Springs won five matches by forfeit in getting its 32-point home victory. The Tigers split six onthe-mat matches with the Cardinals.
Analese Happy, a first-year high schooler, picked up Excelsior Springs’ first on-the-mat win by a secondperiod pin at 110 pounds. Junior Lauren Park then pinned Ray South’s Jaslynn Boyd in 16 seconds at 140.
The Cardinals picked up their first win at 145, with Zayla Vann defeating sophomore Gabby Scrivener by a 15-2 major decision. Ray South then won the 155 and 170 matches, with Louise Eskina pinning senior Bailee Baxter in the second period at 155 and Shanelle Henderson pinning sophomore Wamble Tunstall with 3…
