Technically, Marshall offered two types of distance races – a 2-miler (3,200 meters) for junior varsity runners and a 3.1-miler (5 kilometers) for varsity runners. In the girls junior varsity race, Excelsior Springs placed three runners in the top 10, including two in the top three. Kennedi Winford, a first-year high schooler, was runner-up with her time of 17 minutes, 4.6 seconds; and Camden McDaniels, also a first-year high schooler, placed third in 17:27.6.
