ES volleyballers sweep Harrisonville, Chrisman
Excelsior Springs started a winning streak in varsity volleyball last week.
After getting swept 3-0 Sept. 5 at Belton, the Tigers swept Harrisonville Sept. 6 at Harrisonville and visiting William Chrisman of Independence Sept. 7.
Coming out swinging, Belton took the first set 25-9. The Pirates then took the second set 25-15 and completed the sweep by downing the Tigers 25-16.
In sweeping Harrisonville, a former Missouri River Valley Conference-West Division foe, the Tigers took the first set 25-17. Excelsior Springs then hammered out a 30-28 victory in the second set and secured their first match victory this season by claiming the third set 2518.
The Tigers opened their sweep of Chrisman with a 25-15 win. They took the second set 25-12 and the third 25-20.
Excelsior Springs opened this week on Monday by edging visiting Lawson 3-2. The Tigers were scheduled for a Tuesday road match with Maryville and a Thursday home match with Lexington, and they’re slated to finish the week…
