ESPRCC offers slate of summer activities

Like previous years, the Excelsior Springs Parks, Recreation and Community Center Department is offering a slate of lessons, leagues and camps this summer. Some of those activities are being offered with some help from Excelsior Springs High School coaches and teachers. The first week of June, for example, tennis coach Richie Marsh and his Tigers hosted a camp for ages 5-14. The camp drew 21 youngsters. A second camp is planned for Aug. 12-16, city information states. In addition, baseball camp sessions for future high schoolers are set for June 18 on the high school ball diamond. Current and former Tigers will lead future high school Tigers in fundamental drills and other activities. A session for ages 5-8 is scheduled for 9-10 a.m., followed by a 9:30-10:30 session for ages 9-12, the Excelsior Springs Parks and Rec Facebook page states. Cost is $15 per child.
