Some Excelsior Springs bowlers will soon get to test their skills against the state’s top high school club bowlers. On May 6, seniors Joshua Oldham and David Falconer, juniors Colt Bowman and Olivia Smith, sophomore Brody Hurla and freshman Quinlynn Davis will compete in the Missouri PBA Pepsi High School State Tournament at Oasis Lanes in Union. They qualified by finishing second last weekend as a team in the Kansas City area club bowling zone finals at Tiger Bowl in Excelsior Springs. The bowlers finished four pins behind zone champion Lee’s Summit. Joining Lee’s Summit and Excelsior Springs at state will be Raymore-Peculiar, Park Hill and Lee’s Summit West, who finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively. The Excelsior Springs club team is coached by Tiger Bowl owner Jerry Ferrell and Sam Stanton.
