Faubion looks to fill void left by graduation

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Varsity football coach Mark Faubion has what might seem like a daunting task to some fans: replacing 22 seniors. Making that task even harder was that Faubion could not get a full spring and summer to work with his players as he usually does. Still, he sees some positives as the Tigers look to replace their graduates and improve on their 7-4 campaign from last season. “With all of the things we’ve experienced this summer, I think our guys have done a great job,” Faubion said. “We have come a long way in a short amount of time, but we have a long way to go.” For the second consecutive season, Faubion will open with a new quarterback after a fight for the position during the offseason. Junior Dacey Hall and sophomore Chance Moreland have each tried to work their way into the starting role.
