EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Tigers’ home baseball field will have a new look for the 2022 season. This month, the Excelsior Springs Board of Education approved the implementation of synthetic turf for the field. It also approved stadium seats for the softball field. Installation is slated to begin in August, with completion expected around late fall. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for our community and our kids,” Athletic Director Joe Greim said. “Not only will this be great for our baseball program, but it will be available for a lot of different school groups to use throughout the year.” ATG Sports will helm the project, which will include digging up the current field and preparing it for solid stabilization, and applying the rock and chat base layer for the field. ATG is responsible for facilities such as CarShield Field in O’Fallon, where the Tigers played in the 2018 Class 4 Final Four.
