I’m getting ahead of myself again. At least when it comes to sports.
Excelsior Springs High School has yet to stage its first ballgame or track meet to kick off the spring sports track season and I’ve already started thinking about summer sports. There are a few reasons for this.
One reason is a recently published episode of “Ray County Voices,” the podcast I co-host with Sophia Bales. In late February, she and I did a give-andtake interview with Cody Hoessel and Ella Conway, two teens who are studying journalism at Kearney High School – a.k.a., Excelsior Springs’ arch nemesis in prep sports. Sophia and I were asked about how we keep up with all the area news and maintain a steady news flow.
