Mathews makes all-Blue Division girls golf team
Addi Mathews is an all-division girls golfer.
The Excelsior Springs junior received the honor on Oct. 3 for her performance at the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division competition, held at Paradise Pointe Golf Course in Smithville.
Shooting a 116 (59 front nine, 57 back nine) for the 18-hole round, Mathews placed ninth. The top 10 finishers in the tournament were named to the first team all-Blue Division team.
In other Excelsior Springs results, Kylee Baldridge shot a 126 to finish 11th. Baldrige, a senior, shot a 64 for the front nine and a 62 for the back nine.
Seniors Addison Jackson and Tanya Hladky-Bly also placed in the top 20. Jackson took 15th with a 133. Hladky-Bly shot a 134 and was 16th.
In other results, Kearney’s Jo Jo Kutch took the individual tournament title with a 96 – two strokes ahead of runner-up Peyton Wohlford of Smithville and four strokes ahead of third-place finisher Kayla Resler of Kearney. Smithville captured the team title a 406, with…
