McBee, O’Dell nab shooting sports honors

Dantin McBee has a streak going at the Ray County Fair.McBee, who’ll start high school this fall at Excelsior Springs, received the Overall Best in Show Award for shooting sports July 13 at the fair. It was his third straight year to win a Best in Show Award, he said.This year’s honor held special meaning for McBee.“I just shot archery this year,” said McBee, a member of the Millville 4-H Club. “I did not shoot trap or anything else so I could focus on archery a little bit more this year. … It’s really cool that I got best in show for just doing archery this year.”Competing in the 14-18 age group, McBee got the award for scoring a 294 out of 300.
