Parks and Rec Dept offers full slate of summertime activities
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Parks and Recreation Department is serving up an action-packed summer.
At 10 a.m. Wednesdays, the department is offering Art in the Park at Siloam Mountain Park. Kyria Hood, youth and family coordinator, leads children of all ages in various art activities and crafts, teaching them a range of styles and artrelated techniques.
On Fridays through June 24, Storytime in the Park is available at Siloam Mountain. Starting July 1, it will be then available Fridays through Aug. 5 at Century Park. Hood, along with the Excelsior Springs Branch of Mid-Continent Library, offers stories, music and other activities for all children.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, the Community Center offers Toddler Gym and Swim for $2. Toddlers can enjoy gym time on the first and third Tuesdays of each month and pool time on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
