I’m torn again as a football fan.As you might recall, a few months ago, I pledged indifference toward the Kansas City Chiefs, a team I had loved for much of my life. Since then, I’ve debated if I want another team to love or if I want to stick with liking several teams and not having a favorite.I’ve leaned toward loving Green Bay for several reasons. One, the Packers were among a holy trinity of teams I loved as a boy, with the Chiefs and Buffalo being the other two, so making Green Bay my No. 1 team would have a full-circle feel. In addition, Richmond graduate Trevon Alexander plays pro football in Green Bay, albeit not for the Packers. Rather, he plays for the Blizzard, an indoor team that stages its home games near Lambeau Field, which the Packers call home. So by channeling my love toward the Packers, I feel like I would stay connected somehow to Alexander and the Blizzard, too.Then, there’s Green Bay’s amazing football tradition. ...
